Explore Uganda Safaris is a Ugandan family owned tour operator. The Managing Director Henry Okecho has extensive experience in the travel industry spanning over 10 years. Working as a team with our staff and paying particular attention to detail, we pride ourselves in our personalized service and continuously endeavor and have great pleasure in ensuring the most rewarding safaris to our clients.

Flexibility – Our scope is currently limited to Uganda. This is no coincidence as we purpose to focus on what we know and what we do best. Our guiding principle is to work with each client, family and group in an individual way. We encourage you to work with us, discussing your interests, style of travel, budget, time frame and any other factors that would influence your trip in order to come up with an itinerary best suited to you, your family or group. Noting that some people have said that travel to Africa is not inexpensive, our tours offer the best value for your money.

Transportation – Our vehicles are 7-seater custom safari minibuses with pop-up roofs ideal for game viewing and sight seeing. The buses are well maintained to provide maximum level of comfort and safety and are fully equipped with cool-boxes and first aid kits, as well as guide books on wildlife and birds of East Africa. If requested, transportation can be arranged in a 4x4 Land cruiser or Land rover at an extra cost but is not guaranteed.

Our Drivers/guides – We know this for a fact! The success of your safari will largely depend on your driver/guide. It is because of this that we have a great team of carefully selected drivers/guides, well trained and experienced, and with a vast knowledge of the wildlife and animal behavior as well as the local fauna and flora.

Briefs – At the start of your safari, one of our tour consultants will take time to meet you probably at our office (whenever possible) to introduce your driver/guide and take you through the safari program, explaining what to expect while on the safari, provide background information/materials and don’ts, as well as answer any last minute questions that you may have.

Accommodation - Our accommodation is valid and will depend on your budget. There are several types ranging from 5 star hotels and luxury tented camps to basic camping for those who want to ‘rough it’. We can and will help you choose from the list when planning your trip. At whatever level, we provide the very best for our guests.

Past Clients – With or without a guidebook, the best source of information is someone who has been there recently. Our past clients are a mine of information and many of them send us back feedback on arriving home after a most memorable safari. Feel free to request for their contacts to hear “the inside story”.

Affiliations – We are members of the Association of Uganda Tour Operators. This obligates us to observe the Association’s strict code of conduct designed to ensure that members trade honestly and professionally at all times. The Association also expects members to comply with the spirit of Uganda’s tourist reputation, offering high quality service, comfort, safety and value to all clients and in addition, care for the environment and the local people living near the National Parks and Game Reserves.
